Haydn's exhibition "Maquettes 1974-1999" was held at the Burlington Art Centre
in 2003 and featured a retrospective of 30 years of large scale fabrication.
The show illustrated the relationship between the pivotal design stage
of the maquette and its realization as a large scale piece.
The strategic use of the maquette is illustrated by the large scale sculpture known as "Communications".
The maquette (pictured left) embodies all of the crucial lines and elements of the final version (below). |
